Principles To Live By

Occasionally I get asked what principles guide my life. I have a number of them, but I had never collected them in one place until now. I suspect that deeply holding any one of these concepts would probably change your life. These are not in any particular order, except the first three.

Prayer

We accept many things without thinking about them. Take the idea of prayer. We view prayer as some sort of a conversation with God. In this view, prayer is like making a toll-free call. But, for very important reasons a conversation with God is unlike any other and that changes the nature of the thing. As a result, a good deal of misunderstanding has grown up around prayer.

Your Thoughts

You are probably familiar with the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, the Japanese scientist who found that water reacts to our thoughts and emotions. Emoto would expose water to a thought and then take a picture of a single ice crystal of that water. And as I say, he learned that the water reacted to the thought, almost as though it were alive. . .

Practicing Gratitude

If you are looking for a powerful spiritual practice, you might consider gratitude. Practicing gratitude will make you feel better, be happier, more connected to others, improve your relationships, be less depressed and believe it or not, actually lengthen your life!
