Of all the spiritual practices, blessing is the most powerful, both in terms of what it does for us and for the gift it is to others. Blessing is a very important part of the daily religious practices of both Jews and Muslims, while in the West, blessing has been largely reserved for priests and ministers.

Principles To Live By

Occasionally I get asked what principles guide my life. I have a number of them, but I had never collected them in one place until now. I suspect that deeply holding any one of these concepts would probably change your life. These are not in any particular order, except the first three.

We accept many things without thinking about them. Take the idea of prayer. We view prayer as some sort of a conversation with God. In this view, prayer is like making a toll-free call. But, for very important reasons a conversation with God is unlike any other and that changes the nature of the thing. As a result, a good deal of misunderstanding has grown up around prayer.
